Flood and earth slide insurance caused by rain water can be purchased through the National Flood Insurance Program. You can get coverage for a home up to $250,000 and personal property up to $100,000. The cost with $500 deductible for each coverage in our area (Zone C – Preferred Risk) is $317.
Emergency Kits
Having an emergency kit for your home, and also for each car, is an excellent idea. One source is the Earthquake Supply Center at 3095 Kerner Blvd. in San Rafael (459-5500). Their website is http://www.earthquakesupplycenter.com. Items may be ordered online or at the store. Another site for supplies is Disaster Survival Solutions at http://www.qrcenter.com/ Further information on supply ideas can be found on the Earthquake page.
